QUONNIE THE MUSICAL
For six summers I wrote, directed, and produced Quonnie The Musical, a children's show about the history and customs of Quonochontaug, Rhode Island. Performers were as young as 3 and as old as 73. They rehearsed, memorizede and performed the show in about three weeks' time. The songs were old favorites with new lyrics. Last year's show included Pharrell's "Happy," Barbra Streisand's "People," the theme from "The Lone Ranger," Tammy Wynette's "Stand By Your Man," and Dean Martin's "That's Amore."
Every July I hosted the Quonnie Theater Workshop at the Quonochontaug Grange. It was a fun four-day workshop dedicated to learning and practicing basic performing skills. Participants learned how to read and interpret a script, play improv games, and create memorable characters.
In Summer 2017 I will write and direct the film version of Quonnie The Musical.
