Bride and Flatulence -- it's a gas!
Bride and Flatulence opens this week! I'm so excited to see my words and lyrics come to life again . . . here is a shot of my cast: Kirsty Sadler (pink dress) is Emmabeth, Lily Owen (white dress) is Maryjane, and Brad Lovett is Mr. Darby. The play is directed by my friend and colleague, Dave Griffiths (seated).
The genesis: A few years ago, I read a very silly Jane Austen fan fiction book, Mr. Darcy Takes A Wife. Now I know what happened to the Darcys on their honeymoon! But from that, I imagined the story that became Bride and Flatulence. I thought, "What are Mr. Darcy and Mr. Bingley like when the women aren't around? What happens if they have to burp? Etc . ?. "
Want to see it? Performances are held in the Black Box theater at the Sage Center at Hillsdale College, and in addition to my show, there are five other wonderful short plays, all directed or written by students. Shows are Wednesday through Saturday, 8pm with a matinee at 2pm. To reserve tickets (the theater is tiny!), 517-607-2848 or 517-607-2410.
